2007 Global HP OpenCall Awards of Excellence |

Hewlett-Packard and Frost & Sullivan are proud to present the first ever HP OpenCall Awards of Excellence. The 2007 awards honor HP customers worldwide using HP OpenCall solutions in effective and innovative ways to deliver business value. Frost & Sullivan, a leading global consulting company, will leverage its telecommunications expertise and objective position as a source of industry insight to act as judge for the 2007 awards.
The HP OpenCall Awards of Excellence is an annual award to be presented at one of the three regional HP Software Universe events. The HP OpenCall Awards of Excellence award presentation will alternate among the three regional events each year.
Registration for the 2007 awards is now closed, please check back for the 2008 awards!
Applications will be accepted until 15 January 2007.
Winners will be notified the week of 23 January 2007.
Who can submit a nomination?
We encourage all HP OpenCall customers to submit their applications today. We welcome applications from all HP customers around the globe using HP OpenCall portfolio solutions.
Perhaps you’ve implemented HP OpenCall solutions to offer new innovative services to gain competitive advantage, or you’ve improved customer satisfaction through more responsive, reliable cost-effective OpenCall network or infrastructure solutions. Let us know what you’re doing to drive the success of your organization.
What achievements do the awards recognize?
One award will be given in each of the following three categories:
- Excellence in Delivering Value to Business (Consolidation)
- To what extent has consolidation through HP OpenCall products and solutions contributed to reducing the cost (capex and opex) of management and operations?
- What was the nature of consolidation implemented in your organization?
- What benefit – internal or external – can you now provide that wasn’t possible before? And what has been the specific impact?
- Excellence in Capitalizing on Change (Innovation)
- How have you been able to drive service innovation and enhance business flexibility and velocity with HP OpenCall solutions?
- How have the HP OpenCall products and services enabled you to create new compelling services that were either not possible or cost prohibitive previously?
- Excellence in Achieving Business Continuity (Convergence)
- What steps have HP OpenCall solutions enabled you to take toward an evolutionary convergent architecture?
- How has convergence, using OpenCall solutions, optimized resources while enabling new services?
Please note: Entrants need not identify an award category—the judging panel will allocate awards based on information provided in the application.
What’s in it for me?
The awards offer you the opportunity to be recognized for your accomplishments within your own organization, with your business leaders and industry peers.
In addition, winners will receive:
- Recognition at HP APJ OpenCall Insight Days - HP Software Universe 2007 Asia Pacific in Brisbane, Australia, 5-7 March 2007. Winning implementations will be featured and highlighted during several Universe activities.
- One complimentary pass for the HP OpenCall Insight Days - HP Software Universe 2007 Asia Pacific
- A custom-engraved award plaque
- A $1,000 charitable donation to UNICEF (or another charity of the winner’s choice), made on behalf of each winning company
- A personalized gift for each member of the winning team
- An optional award ceremony on the company site
- The choice between up to 5 days of OpenCall training for up to 10 students on customer site (travel for 1 HP OpenCall instructor to deliver on-site training included) or a business case study based on the information provided in the submission, authored by Frost & Sullivan
How are winners selected?
The awards committee will judge submissions based on the following criteria:
- Measurable improvement in efficiency, quality, and value to the business
- Committed to drive business change — demonstrable innovation, creativity and outstanding effort in developing new infrastructure architecture or product introduction
- Shown the greatest foresight in developing or fostering the development of a technology used or able to be used in communications services via carrier networks.
- Solution representing an innovative approach to an existing aspect of communications networks or services, or opens up an entirely new area
Consideration will be given to project scale, entry in an emerging market, leadership in adopting new technology, and creative approach to solutions, including 3rd party technologies.
